Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Gupta 

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Gupta is the Founding Vice Chancellor of World University of Design, Sonipat, India. His distinguished career spans more than three decades which includes stints at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi. He has been a UNDP Fellow at Fashion Institute of Technology (NY, USA) and a Visiting Professor at École Nationale Supérieure des arts et Industries Textiles (ENSAIT, France). His most significant contribution has been in establishing Design as a mainstream field of study and career choice in India. He has led the movement of design into university education when he founded the World University of Design - the first design focused university in India offering art, architecture, and design programs under the same roof. The university is now a reference point for scores of universities across India introducing design in their course offerings. He enjoys wide visibility and high reputation in the textile & fashhion community wherein he has made significant contributions, but also in Art, Design and Higher Education communities.

Dr Mahendra Gooroochurn

Dr. Mahendra Gooroochurn works as Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical & Production Engineering Department of the University of Mauritius. He is a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of UK, an accredited green building design and construction professional (LEED AP BD+C) registered with the USGBC, an Edge Expert registered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He has over three years industry experience as research manager and head of sustainability in building services consultancy and has research interests in sustainability in the built environment and application of automation and artificial intelligence techniques to devise innovative solutions to address industry and societal challenges. He is the Ellen McArthur Foundation Circular Economy Pioneers for Mauritius as part of a network of 10 Sub-Saharan countries and the COP26 representative of Mauritius in the ACU Commonwealth Futures Climate Research Cohort.
